Jade carving is a practice in patience.  To hone this craft is a lifetime endeavor.  I often find myself having to think outside the box of conventional tooling.  To me being a stone carver has been an exercise in creating tools out of necessity for each project, as well as learning how each stone is unique and must be worked differently.  In order to achieve the desired results a number of steps must be taken in sequence to surface a piece.
